Yes, we do have a carpet steam cleaner. I love it, especially with 4 kids it has come in handy more times than I can count. I've heard vinegar works well instead of soap too.

I was thinking though more along the lines of something like the H20 mop (better quality though). I have wood, vinyl and tile in my house and getting them clean is awful because they each require a different technique. I've heard those steam mops work on anything. Do they really get grout clean? I hate grout.

My grandmother taught me this one to get out berry stains. You can use it for just about any stain, but do make sure your fabric can take the heat. I like to pour the water through the fabric rather than onto the fabric like this:

Lay your colander upside down in the sink. Put the stained garment on the colander. Boil the water. Pour the water through the stained garment. The colander allows the boiling water to go through the fabric rather than onto the fabric, and helps protect you from possible burns.

Excellent idea! If you get them perfected, please publish the pattern. I've seen washable wetjet cloths for sale online, but nobody has posted a how-to yet.
I have seen a how-to for the duster heads, and I'm going to give that a try. Need to use a dustblaster on my sewing machine too...
Oh, and if anybody has a good idea for cleaning solution for the wetjet, let's hear it.

They work great, and will suck out lots of filth from your carpets. you can rent them at Lowe's and other hardware bigbox stores, just don't purchase the soap they recommend, use your own favorite organic biodegradable nontoxic soap, like dr bonners.

I too am attempting to "detox" my house. As far as window cleaning AND dusting, I use the microfiber towels that you can buy at Bed Bath and Beyond. They are $10 for 3 towels, and you wet one and leave one dry. Clean with the wet one and then buff with the dry one. They work WONDERS!!! AND are VERY environmentally friendly. I will never use a solution again to wash my windows.

How frustrating! I found cascade didn't work for me, the vinegar did, but I did put in a LOT of vinegar. Like 3-4 cups of it, and ran it through an extra long cycle. Maybe some jet dry would work? I know they have a dishwasher cleaner, I wonder if that would help? I hope you can find a solution!

Hi, I used Ecover tablets and some calgon - didn't know how bad it was. It left a horribly thick white residue on everything in my dishwasher, including the dishwasher. I have run vinigar through 3 times and it still won't come off. Do you have any suggestions. My dishwasher is new. :( I hope it is not ruined. I am tempted to run cascade to see if it will clean it out.
